Time to burn those holiday calories

This year the holidays were especially good to me. As Christmas rolled into town so did a few precious gifts. This year I was fortunate enough to open up two boxes one containing my Scarpa Inverno's and the other, my 40below K2 Overboots. Both a necessity in my upcoming climb and both were gifts from my loving parents and my leading lady. And on a side note I will def be doing a full gear report for you guys on those bad boys too so keep an eye out for that. As for the rest of the holiday goodness, it was filled with an over indulgence in calories and a whole lot of relaxation. But as all good things must come to an end so did the lazy days. With that, the last few days I have found myself either riding the bike or snowshoeing my local mountains with my 50lb sled in tow. This proved to be a good learning experience in dealing with towing sleds as I have found that they can be about as enjoyable as walking a retarded dog, they seem to want to go in every direction other than the way you want them to and if you don't pay attention the darn thing will be sliding up and biting your heels any chance it gets. But again, using this sled is a great learning experience for me and becoming comfortable using it means one less thing to worry about on Denali.
So as we come to the end of yet another year I look forward to what the next year has to offer and as the winter weather keeps dumping in my neck of the woods I will be sure hit the mountains every chance I get and keep you updated on the amazing things being done to benefit the SGWA. And all of this in preparation for my trip NORTH.

Oh P.S- So I got a message from Sam one of the climbers on the expedition and he attached a link he thought you all would like to see. I know I for one was pretty psyched on it and you may enjoy it too.
