As we fall upon the six month marker for Denali it is now time for everything to start coming together. The biggest hurdle in preparing for this venture is establishing a crew of guys that can come together, work together, and fight for one common goal. Summitpost has once again helped us achieve this goal. And now I would like to introduce Jaehee Song. As I learn more about Jaehee I can see how dedicated and determined he is. This guy is motivated whether he is out hitting the trail solo or in a group, he is out there doing what he loves and we are glad to have him on the team.
Name: Jaehee Song
Birthdate: 3/3/1970
Specs: 5’10, 166 lbs
Home Town: Seoul, South Korea
Current Town: Bellevue, WA
Background: Early thirties I began to hike/climb mountains through Southern California to challenge myself by pushing to the limit. I hiked Mt. Whitney and Langley solo in day hikes. I climbed Mt. Rainer with a group of three after one unsuccessful try. I tried Mt. Shasta solo and turned back due to trail condition.
Training Prep: I am training myself by 3~5 miles of trail running and with rock /ice climbing classes and practice during winter.
Hobbies: Anything that are happening outdoor. I try to read books, watch movies, and talk to people as much as I can.
Future goal: Mt. Denali, Aconcagua, Cho Oyu, and Mt. Everest. Find a couple of good climbing partners.
As we dive deeper into this adventure I can assure you that we will learn a great deal about Jaehee and the reasons he is climbing this mountain, what keeps him motivated and what he expects to gain from all of this. What ever it is that makes this guy tick I am glad to have him on board and help keep us motivated on our venture NORTH.
