waiting On A weather Window

After a days travel from Anchorage to Talkeetna with our new local friend and driver Jerry and his dog, we found ourselves hiding out from the weather in the Sheldon Air Service hanger sorting gear for the climb. Upon realizing that the sunlight wouldn't be a good gauge of when it was getting late due to the fact it stays light out until 2am we headed off to eat dinner at Mountain High Pizza which probably has the best pizza I have ever tasted and then off to bed at the House of Seven Trees .
Day two in Talkeetna we learned that a big part of climbing Denali is weather, whether it be on or off the mountain and in this case it happens to be both weather play a huge role. Upon arrival to the hanger this morning we saw there there would be no going to or from the mountain and that while we wait in the warmth of the Sheldon office with our now Russian friends for a weather window to open there are even more people waiting on the mountain.
The present storm has grounded two planes on the Kahiltna Glacier and is currently holding hostage 20 climbers and counting. We however are in good spirits just waiting out the storm and very eager to get on the mountain.
Hoping for good weather here in Takleetna, Jayk
